The MATS School of Physical Education is a constituent academic unit of the University and is dedicated to excellence in Physical Education, Sports Sciences, Health, Fitness, and Wellness Education. The School aims to develop professionally competent teachers and sports professionals by integrating modern technology, scientific training, and value-based education. The aim of the MATS School of Physical Education is to train teachers in modern technology as well as in emerging trends related to health, fitness, wellness, and personality development. Students are professionally prepared to become qualified Physical Education teachers for secondary and higher education levels. The School of Physical Education offers a two-year professional course leading to the B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) degree. The School is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. The curriculum of the programme is carefully designed to prepare professionally competent teachers for both classroom instruction and playground activities, ensuring a balanced development of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional ethics. The B.P.Ed. Degrees awarded by the institution are recognized and accepted by the Government of Chhattisgarh as well as other State Governments in India for appointment as Physical Education Teachers in schools, colleges, and universities. The School emphasizes the holistic development of students, enabling them to meet the academic, professional, and practical demands of teaching Physical Education effectively in diverse educational settings.
