Event summary / outcomes:

School of Engineering & IT, MATS University, Raipur has successfully organized ‘Swachh BharatAbhiyan’ on 1^stOctober 2022 inGullu Village, Aarang, in which street and surrounding cleaning activities are performed by students and faculty.Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. It is a restructured version of the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan launched in 2009 and carried out by predecessor Manmohan Singh for better implementation.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a five year long cleanliness campaign launched by the Government of India on 2^nd October 2014. The campaign was aimed for making the streets, roads and offices clean from filth and garbage. One of the main objectives of the drive is to make India Open Defecation Free (ODF). The campaign also targets raising public awareness about cleanliness through rigorous media campaigns and to institute door to door garbage collection in rural/urban household and ensuring its safe disposal.
