Press Note for Seminar on “IT Skills required in Current Era” and Workshop on “Cyber Security”.
Engineering Department (MSEIT) MATS University Raipur, in its pursuit to impart Skill Enhancement training to its budding engineers, conducted Seminar on “IT Skills required in Current Era” and Workshop on “Cyber Security”. The entire training session was being scheduled and bifurcated in Seminar and Workshop. This course of study and training aims at equipping the participants/students with the required skill sets to embark upon their upcoming technical journey. The objective of the Seminar and Workshop was to know the importance of Current IT Skills and awareness in Cyber Security.
The program began with a well – informed and motivating address by our Hon. V.C. Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav sir highlighting the academic / industrial efforts in imparting skills to the upcoming engineers with practical knowledge based education and paid stress on the areas necessary for the students to have skills in their technical journey. Dr. Abhishek Kumar Jain from MSEIT, also addressed to the young aspirants towards skilling with modern tools such as cyber security. Dr. Messala Sudhir Kumar, Head of the Department Computer Science & Engineering gave vote of thanks for the event. The entire session was planned and conducted by Computer Science Engineering department of MSEIT.
Honored Mr. Suresh Rao, Director, Anion Softech Pvt. Ltd, delivered Seminar on “IT Skills required in Current Era”. Information technology serves as an essential tool for today’s information professional, and ongoing research is needed to assess the technological directions of the field over time. This paper presents the results of a survey of the technologies used by library and information science practitioners, with attention to the combinations of technologies employed and the technology skills that practitioners wish to learn. The most common technologies employed were email, office productivity tools, web browsers, library catalog- and database-searching tools, and printers, with programming topping the list of most-desired technology skill to learn. His expertise gave the student idea relative in rarity of emerging technologies, such as the makerspace, in current practice.
The Workshop was delivered by Mr. Pratik Kumar, Expert on “Cyber Security”. His lecture focused on the Machine learning, which is so critical to cyber security because, it can make cyber security simpler, more effective, less expensive, and proactive. It is a sub-field that comes under Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine learning means, computers changing the way they do a task by learning from new data automatically without the help of humans. With the help of machine learning, cyber security systems can analyze patterns and helps to prevent cyber-attacks. It is about developing patterns and manipulating those patterns with algorithms. Machine learning is based on some patterns that are capable of making new predictions according to the new data, like a shopping application that provides you with many recommendations based on your previous views. Later, he explained that to develop a pattern, it should have rich data because the data should represent possible outcomes from the possible structure. It is always misunderstood as a robot that can destruct. Machine learning can be used in various domains within cyber security to increase the security process and make it easier for a security analyst to identify, prioritize, and deal with new attacks.
The honorable chancellor of MATS University, Shri Gajraj Pagaria ji has always been a source of encouragement in all our endeavors for providing the latest knowledge and technology to the young technocrats. The director general of MATS University Shri Priyesh Pagaria ji conveyed his eagerness to see the successful exercise of such lectures in actual practice. The registrar Shri Gokulanand Panda ji also send the message of encouragement to the young engineers for such events.
