Expert talks on “Research Writing and Research Proposals Formulation” and on “Machine Learning for Cyber Security”.

Engineering Department (MSEIT) MATS University Raipur, in its pursuit to impart Skill Enhancement training to its budding engineers, conducted Expert talks on “Research Writing and Research Proposals Formulation” and on “Machine Learning for Cyber Security”. The entire training session was being scheduled and bifurcated in two expert lectures. This course of study and training aims at equipping the participants/students with the required skill sets to embark upon their upcoming technical journey. The objective of the expert talks was to aware importance of Quality Education and Research.
The program began with a well – informed and motivating address by our Hon. V.C. Prof. (Dr.) K.P. Yadav sir highlighting the academic / industrial efforts in imparting skills to the upcoming engineers with practical knowledge based education and paid stress on the areas necessary for the students to have skills in their technical journey. Dean Academics Dr. Jyoti Jannaswami, focussed on the today’s need of the society, industries and the nation as whole and stated measures to be adopted by the youth potential of our society. Dr. Abhishek Kumar Jain from MSEIT, also addressed to the young aspirants towards skilling with modern tools such as cyber security. Dr.Abhishek Badholia, Head of the Department Computer Science & Engineering gave vote of thanks for the event. The entire session was planned and conducted by Computer Science Engineering department of MSEIT.

Honored Dr. R. Jagdeesh Kannan, Prof. and Former Dean, Computer Science Engineering, VIT Chennai delivered expert talk on “Research paper writing and research proposal formulation”. He emphasized on that as humans, we are constantly demanding new things and new ways to do things. Research is what has brought about these new ways of getting things done and has led to developments in every aspect of life. Government, organizations and institutions are aware of the role research play in national development and therefore sponsor lots of research projects. His lecture concentrated on research proposal and formulation which is said to be the foundation to which every other structures and constructions of the research is anchored on. His expertise gave the students ideas the basic components of research proposals and formulation.
The second expert talk was delivered by Dr. Sreenivasa Chakravarthi Sangapu, Associate Prof. Computer Science Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Chennai, and Visiting Post-doctoral Research fellow, University of London, on “Machine Learning for Cyber Security”. His lecture focused on the Machine learning, which is so critical to cyber security because, it can make cyber security simpler, more effective, less expensive, and proactive. It is a sub-field that comes under Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine learning means, computers changing the way they do a task by learning from new data automatically without the help of humans. With the help of machine learning, cyber security systems can analyze patterns and helps to prevent cyber-attacks. It is about developing patterns and manipulating those patterns with algorithms. Machine learning is based on some patterns that are capable of making new predictions according to the new data, like a shopping application that provides you with many recommendations based on your previous views. Later, he explained that to develop a pattern, it should have rich data because the data should represent possible outcomes from the possible structure. It is always misunderstood as a robot that can destruct. Machine learning can be used in various domains within cyber security to increase the security process and make it easier for a security analyst to identify, prioritize, and deal with new attacks.
The honorable chancellor of MATS University, Shri Gajraj Pagaria ji has always been a source of encouragement in all our endeavors for providing the latest knowledge and technology to the young technocrats. The director general of MATS University Shri Priyesh Pagaria ji conveyed his eagerness to see the successful exercise of such lectures in actual practice.
