NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. These are available at: http://nptel.ac.in. From March 2014 NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs! These are available at: https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in. To take this initiative forward and to encourage more students across colleges NPTEL initiated the Local Chapter Concept.
MATS School of Information Technology initiated the step to walk with the timeline and started the NPTEL chapter in University. A Faculty member appointed as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) updated about all the latest NPTEL initiatives and given information which She/he can disseminate among the students. She/He can identify suitable mentors for various courses, who can ensure that students are active in a course, submitting their assignments on time and also clarifies the doubts that they may have. The SPOC will act as a connecting link between NPTEL and students, disseminating information as and when required.
MATS School of Information Technology has conducted NPTEL awareness workshop on 16.01.2018 in Raipur. More than 100faculties participated in workshop. Currently 179 students and faculties are registered for NPTEL courses.
